OFFoff - UFO

offoff.be/programma/still-moving

During Still Moving, OFFoff explores the boundaries of the cinematic medium with an exhibition focusing on the slide-film (diafilm)—a medium in which slides are projected in rapid succession through one or more slide carousels. The slide-film occupies the gray area where photography, film, and experimentation converge, evoking film classics such as Chris Marker's La Jetée. Positioned one after the other, these still images generate movement while also alluding to the pre-cinema era—the moment between Eadweard Muybridge's photographic sequences and the first films of the Lumière brothers and Edison.
