629 Intangibles

For my masters project I worked around six hundred twenty nine objects which my parents preserved from my childhood.

The psychology of possession proposes that feelings of ownership cause people to view tangible and intangible possessions as part of the extended self. Sartre observed that ‘the totality of my possessions reflects the totality of my being. I am what I have, what is mine is myself’.
Thus, tangible and intangible possessions and feelings of psychological ownership become linked to the self-concept.
